The Heart Behind Bilby Threads
Bilby Threads was founded by Megan & Mitchel, a husband-and-wife duo who turned their love for creativity and the outdoors into a brand that celebrates family, adventure, and sustainability.
Megan is a passionate graphic designer and marketer, having worked with some of Australia’s biggest companies and content creators. She has always had an eye for bold, beautiful design and previously ran a successful accessory business, bringing bright and fun creations to Australian conventions.
But like so many small businesses, that journey was cut short by the rising costs of COVID. It was a difficult decision to step away, but it led to something even greater - starting a family.
Now, as a mother, Megan sees the world through a different lens. Every outing, every picnic, every moment outdoors with her little one has inspired her to create products that help families enjoy more quality time together - whether in the backyard, at the beach, or on a road trip adventure.

Why the Name ‘Bilby Threads’?
The bilby, a small native Australian marsupial, is a symbol of resilience, adaptability, and conservation. Much like our brand, it represents a deep connection to nature and a commitment to sustainability. The Threads in our name represent the woven craftsmanship of our products and the idea that the best memories are woven together through the fabric of everyday life.
We wanted our name to reflect both our love for Australia’s landscape and wildlife and our dedication to creating products that stand the test of time - just like the memories made on them.
